PUBLIC RESEARCH 2
Jennifer Mascall on taking Public Research into the process of creating The Three Cornered Hat
“Moving into the studio to choreograph the dance, we already have scores, frameworks of duets, trios and solos to work from, ideas about books, and relationships from the year’s site-specific research with the violist and the storyteller.
The studio work is setting the movements within the frameworks we have made in public with the Nijinsky Gibber Jazz Club.
It is one of the most fun processes I have ever worked on because of the inventiveness and skill or the collaborators. Performance at the Chapel Arts Centre continues the tradition of site-specific work that began in 1975 when I started GRID, a performance group dedicated to site-specific performances.”
