Meet the Artist: Lara Barclay
Lara is the co-artistic director of Lamondance, a contemporary dance company for emerging professionals in Vancouver, and a dancer with Plastic Orchid Factory and also with New York-based Company Aszure Barton & Artists.
Lara, a graduate of the National Ballet School and the John Neumeier Hamburg Ballet School in Germany, has performed for 11 years in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Canada and Brazil dancing with such companies as Nationaltheatre Mannheim, Copenhagen International Ballet, Landeshauptstadt Kiel, Jan Lauwer’s Needcompany and Deborah Colker.
She was a member of Toronto Dance Theatre and has also worked independently with James Kudelka, Barak Marshall, Simone Orlando, Donald Sales, Cherice Barton, Robert Glumbek, Move: the company, MascallDance, Matjash Mrowzewski, and many others.
An active teacher and choreographer, Lara has taught at several companies and institutions worldwide including Copenhagen International Ballet, New Danish Dance Theatre, Arts Umbrella, Goh Ballet, Pacific Dance Arts, Aszure Barton & Artists, Move: the company and The Lion King Hamburg.
