Dancing on the Edge Festival / Dusk Dances

MascallDance returns to Vancouver’s 27th Dancing On The Edge Festival  with a ten minute work for every body currently being created on site at Crab Park Portside by choreographers Amber Funk Barton and Jennifer Mascall with Susan McKenzie (dramaturge) in collaboration with five dance captains and a group of volunteer movers.

DUCK DANCES @ DUSK DANCES can be seen, with three other works reflective of the landscape,  in a series long associated with Dancing on the Edge called Dusk Dances, one of Vancouver’s loveliest summer pastimes.

The series, curated by dance artist Sylvie Bouchard, has become a national treasure, presented in a number of Canadian locales annually.  Vancouver’s 2015 presentation includes two works by Vancouver artists.

The other local work is  THREE-TONE² a trio exploration of movement by Karissa Barry with Lara Barclay and Kirsten Wicklund.

From Toronto, Santee Smith brings  Kaha:wi, Four Directions, Young Woman’s Dance,

and Lua Shayenne and company contribute   Mumure de Femme / Woman’s Whisper
