About the artist: Darcy McMurray

Darcy McMurray has been dancing since the age of 4. She was part of Dance Streams and Arts Umbrella Youth Company. In 2001 she moved to Toronto to study Pilates at Stott Pilates. In 2003 she was asked to join the company as an Instructor Trainer. Darcy travelled internationally training instructors  and conducting workshops and exams. She helped create DVD’s, Manuals, Course Support Materials and Workshops. While in Toronto she also danced in several projects for Robert Desrosiers.
She moved back to BC in 2005 and has had the opportunity to work with Judith Marcuse, Karen Jamieson, Jennifer Mascall, Gail Lotenberg and Serge Bennathan.
In 2008 Darcy founded  Full Circle Pilates and Health, a Pilates studio.
She attended Emily Carr University, studying Mixed Media and Creative Writing and Focal Point for Photography, and recently studied  ‘Exploring Art for Social Change’ at Simon Fraser University.
Darcy has choreographed several of her own pieces and also creates works with paint and mixed media. Darcy is fascinated with the anatomical intricacies of the body, dancing and gardening!
